Course Description:

Learn how to navigate the uncertain areas of managing and addressing work restrictions or accommodations that allow your employee to continue performing the essential functions of their job. Understand the supervisor’s role, how to collaborate with stakeholders, including local HR and School of Medicine E&LR, best practices for managing work accommodations, and engaging in the interactive process.

 

The course is offered LIVE via Zoom and recorded in Canvas during its corresponding month.

May 13th, 2027, from 10 am – 12 pm

When the course opens in Canvas (first of the month of the Live Session date), you will receive an email from Canvas with a link to log in.

 

The course will be available from the 1st of the month, through the last day of the month surrounding the live session. For example, in October, Live Sessions on October 11th and October 13th, both courses will open on October 1st and close on October 31st.

 

Expectations:

As a Supervisory Academy participant, there are a few expectations:

  • Complete the Feedback Survey for each session you participate in. (For more information, review the Feedback Survey Instructions in LearnMed.)
  • Complete all pre- and post-work surrounding the Live Session.
  • Attend the full Live Session or view the recording in full.  

Of note, this is a Stanford University SoM Staff course. If you are not a Stanford University SoM Staff member, you will not receive credit for this course.
