Quantitative medicine focuses on clinical and epidemiological studies. Students will learn how to read a journal article and how to recognize and understand the concepts behind different clinical study designs (e.g., case-control, cohort, randomized clinical trial). The emphasis is on concepts. Understanding the reasoning behind calculations and formulas is stressed rather than memorization.
